Chests are pressure vessels or rather convector heaters, being responsible for the heat transfer of the used medium.

Usually the flowing medium is hot steam or oil.

In industrial ironers, HODEL chests are used in order to transfer the temperature onto the ironers, thus resulting in a simultaneous drying and ironing of the laundry.
